Cut the Fat

As the population of Prince George has remained essentially stagnant for years if not decades, the population at city hall has continued to grow and grow.  More positions, filled by more people, collecting more salaries, and costing the tax payers more and more money every single year.  With the plethora of staff one would expect the city to be an efficient well oiled machine - but it clearly is not.  There's an old saying, "when there's too many cooks in the kitchen, no one gets dinner" and that's exactly where we are at.  There is a point when over-staffing becomes counterproductive as people trip over themselves, bog down processes, and lose efficiencies...not to mention the millions of dollars it costs the tax payers in salaries every single year.

I will work through every last department in city hall to increase efficiencies, streamline processes, consolidate workload, and Cut the Fat!  This will not only reduce the ever growing burden of local government on it's people, but will simultaneously increase productivity and service levels.  This is what the most successful companies in the world do regularly, and this is what the City of Prince George should have done years ago.
